August Wrap Up

Even though I have been quite recently with my blogging duties, I still had a really good reading month in August. I managed to read all the books on my TBR, and all the books I read were absolutely amazing and I enjoyed every minute I spent reading them. I feel a bit more motivated now to write blog posts after an amazing reading month, so hopefully will catch up with reviews and posts this month.

Nevernight and Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

I really enjoyed re-reading Nevernight again. I remembered how much I enjoyed reading it the first time but I forgot how amazing it actually is. Immediately after finishing Nevernight I jumped straight into Godsgrave and I loved that just as much as Nevernight. Just like the first book, Godsgrave had me on the edge of my seat and have me cringing at some of the brutal bloody scenes, but still I enjoyed it so much.

Gangster School 3: Gruffles and the Killer Sheep by Kate Wiseman

Gangster School 3 was just as amusing as the first two books and it was amazing to jump back into this story again. Gruffles and the Killer Sheep is the sort of book any child and adult would enjoy. It has everything you need to keep you occupied from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see what other adventures are in store for Milly and the gang, if its anything like the other three books then I know I’m in for a bumpy ride.

Sanctuary by V.V. James

After loving The Dark Gifts Trilogy I was intrigued to see what was in-store with the authors new book. Even before this book was released there was so many positive reviews that it was hard not to go into this book without high expectations. Thankfully I thought this book was amazing and it had me gripped from beginning to end. It had the perfect mix of intrigue, witchcraft and mystery, that makes it the perfect book to read in just a couple of sittings.

Magic for Lairs by Sarah Gailey

Magic for Lairs was another book that had many positive reviews before it was released and after reading it I can see why. I devoured this book in just two sittings over two evenings and that was only because I had to sleep for work the following morning, otherwise I would have stayed awake until the early hours of the morning to finish this book. I was not to sure on what I expected from this book but it more that surpassed my high expectations.

Book of the Month

This month was difficult to choose just one book that I really loved because for me all five books I read were amazing in their own way and I enjoyed them all. But I have decided to go with Sanctuary by V. V. James. I have decided to go with Sanctuary because even though I had some very high expectations and hopes for this book, I was still surprised how much I enjoyed reading this book. It had me glued to every page and I thought the mystery aspect of the book was handled so well that I found myself thinking about it all the time, even when I wasn’t reading the book. The writing just liker her other books was spot on and perfect for this type of book. I can’t wait to see what the author has for us in the hopefully very near future.
